History of the First Thanksgiving
It was an early autumn day in 1621 when the colonists celebrated their plentiful harvest. This festival celebration took place on Plymouth Rock. And they shared their crops with the Native Americans. Men, women and children all came together and gave thanks for their bountiful feast. They celebrated eating wild fowl (turkey) and vegetables. The tradition carried on throughout the years and is widely known today as Thanksgiving.
